Introducing New Years Greetings | MHK Designs October Release

Hi crafty friends!!  It’s the last day of the MHK October Release, and I’m super excited to share today’s project!  It’s my favorite of the whole release!!  I knew that I wanted to create a wine bottle topper for this set, New Years Greetings. 

 

 

I printed the image on vellum and added it to the red tag with some black ribbon and silver cording.  I printed the sentiment on white paper and added it to the topper.  I also added some small black sprinkles to add some classy accents. 

This was very simple, but will be a great addition to a bottle of wine when visiting friends or family this holiday season!

Introducing Perfect Poinsettia | MHK Designs October Release

We are on Day 4 of the MHK Designs Release. Check out the MHK Blog for release details.  

Today we have one more fun Holiday set, Perfect Poinsettia.  I love these large flowers and they remind me of my Grandma.  

I printed the image and sentiment on vellum, and colored the back side of the vellum.  Not only is this easier to not cover up lines, it's also a bit muted in the colors.  I do need to remember to use darker colors when I do this technique.  

I pulled out my Holiday paper stash and had fun putting this card together.  I used some gold twine, and then added red and gold sequins.  It's very festive and fancy.

Introducing Wonderful Wreath | MHK Designs October Release

 

 

Welcome back to Day 3 of the MHK Release Week.  This is my first post of the day, so please check back for my Riley & Co. post later on this morning. 

 

We are starting our Christmas prep with the first new Christmas set from MHK Designs.  I have to tell you, I had such a hard time getting this card ready for the release.  I did not want to think Christmas.  

 

I printed the image and sentiment together today.  When I colored it, I layered Copics and green Wink of Stella.  I wanted my wreath to shimmer a bit.  I also added red WOS to the bow.  

The card itself was very easy.  I tore the edge of the cream cardstock and the red.  Then I added it to the green card base and finished things off with the silver coil.  

Also in this set, are two more beautiful sentiments that will be perfect for Holiday cards.

Introducing Various Vehicles | MHK Designs October Release

 

 

Hi friends!!  I am back with Day 2 Release of the MHK Designs October release. 

 

Today's set is perfect for the men in your life.  These vintage vehicle images with the sentiments for Father's Day or to your husband are perfectly paired.  I used the truck one for my Dad's birthday last week.

 

For my card today, I ended up being really simple. I printed the ship and added the sentiment near the top to print it all at once.  I found some fun black and cream papers and matted it with black,  This kept everything very simple.  I tied a square knot and added it to the front to complete the card.  I think it looks stunning!!

Introducing Chicken In | MHK October Release

 

 

 

 

 

Hi crafty friends!  I am excited to announce the newest release from MHK Designs.  Make sure you check out the Blog all this week for the new release details.   You will also find Giveaway Details there. Then head over the the Etsy Store to shop! 

 

Today's set is a super fun farm set, called Chicken In.    It features 3 images and 5 sentiments.  The chicken wire is my favorite.  This can be added to card background or on top of already patterned papers!!  

I colored the image with my Copics, and die cut it out.  I also die cut a scallop circle which is only barely visible.  I printed the sentiment on vellum and matched it up with the barnwood papers.  Then I added a scallop border and some twine to finish the card off.  

This ended up being such a fun card. I am excited to share it with you all today.

MHKDesigner Inspiration

Hi friends!

I am up on the MHK Designs blog today!  Check it out!!

 I wanted to color this image from the Beachy Keen stamp set.   It's such a fun image that I wanted to make look very realistic and reminiscent of an old photograph.    So when I dug through my stash and found these photo corners, I was so happy!!

 

 

I also used the papers from Country Farm.  The colors work for the September Challenge that is only on for a couple more days!!

I water colored the image from Thankful Thoughts (August release), and love how it looks.  So I kept the rest very simple, adding stitching on the dies and some twine and sequins to finish the card. 

I decided to video the process for you today!

I printed off the cute image from the Friendship set today.  I love this image and coloring it was fun! 

I kept the rest of the card very simple, adding some black matting to make things pop.  I also used a impression plate to create the chicken wire background.  The houndstooth paper is also from MHK Designs and so pretty.  It pairs well with this cat image and brown grasses. 

The card was finished off with some of my favorite natural twine.

MHK Challenge | September

Hi everyone!! 

Over on the MHK Designs blog, we host a fun challenge.  This challenge lasts for the month and is very simple.  If you use MHK Designs stamps, you can do ANYTHING to participate.  But if you do not have any MHK Designs images,  you can use the prompt below!

I had so much fun playing with this as my first official challenge as a DT Member!!  When I printed the butterfly in a purple tone and then added some yellow to the wings.  I finished it off with Wink of Stella to make the butterfly shimmer.

I also used my editing software to add the sentiment.  I finished it off with some yellow buttons. 

 

 

I used the stamps from Beginnings and Endings set.  A beautiful set, and you can find it on the MHK Designs store.

MHK August Release | Thankful Thoughts

Hey there!!  I am back with another card for the MHK Designs Release.  Today we are fast forwarding to Thanksgiving!  Our stamp set today is Thankful Thoughts.    It is full of some awesome lil stamps and sentiments for Thanksgiving or feeling thankful. 

I colored the image and added it to some cardstock circles.  The papers are from the MHK Shop too!!   The background is from the Country Farm Pack,  and the chevron is from Autumnal Accents.  I added some nice lace trip and printed the sentiment on vellum to highlight the background papers! 

So excited to be able to share this with you!
