Coffee Week Video Series | Episode 5

Everything on today’s project can be found in the Craftin Desert Divas Store. 

The stamp images are from Ghostly Greetings, and that is where the inspiration started.  I saw this sentiment and thought HOW COOL would it be if there was a coffin holding a Kcup.  So the only way to knew to do that was to create the image in Cricut Design Space.  You can find the link to that below. 

I also used the new Doodlebug Halloween papers, Boos and Brews and then I added the matte finish sprinkles.   The potion bottles are so fitting with the Coffee theme.

ONE BIG CHANGE – I do mention in the video that I will start Halloween WEEK next week, and due to time and other commitments, I will not be doing a week of videos.  Instead, I will start a Halloween Series next week and it will be sporadic over the next couple of weeks.

Welcome back friends!! 

Today we are pairing coffee with a sweet treat!  The images are from Craftin’ Desert Divas Got Coffee Set. 

You can’t see it well, but I used some Wink of Stella on the donut and for the steam on the coffee.  Love the shimmer!!

I also used dies from CDD – the Fancy Frames, and Stitched in Circles.

A Cuppa Thanks | Coffee Week is HERE!!

Hey friends!  I wanted to pop on to share with you it’s COFFEE WEEK!!  This week is the fall Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop, and it’s also International Coffee Day on Thursday!  So all this week, I have a coffee themed project for you.  Both here and my YouTube channel.  So check back each day! 

 

Today however, I’m sharing a fun new image from Craftin Desert Divas.  This adorable lil bear, Coffee and Donuts Bear,  is ready for fall with his cute scarf and (I assume) a Salted Caramel Latte.  ♥

I colored him with my Copics and used the Frames set of dies to cut the paper.  This will be my entry to the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch for the week.  The patterned papers are from the new Doodlebug pads, Gingham-linin and Swiss Dot.  I added some sprinkles from the Matte Halloween pack to finish my card off. 

I stamped the sentiment from Got Coffee.   Check them at in the Craftin’ Desert Divas store as well.

So Thursday night, my brother called and was acting very fishy.  His wife was gone for the weekend so he brought the kids to visit.  I dropped everything else and we spent Friday afternoon and Saturday with them.  Thankfully they got to see RC play football and McKinley at soccer and some good quality Auntie time!  Loved it.

Fitness Hippo Spinner Card | Craftin’ Desert Divas

 Hi friends!!  I have a fun video for you today sharing how I made this super cute lil spinner-ish card.  I don't know what you would call it I guess.  HA!  I knew tho, that I wanted to have those three Fitness Hippo images twist through the card.  Hopefully, by watching the video you can get the idea.  However, I didn't have a plan, I really just was winging it.   If you also want to create it, please let me know and I can help you get the idea of it. 

 

 

I used three of the new Fitness Hippo digital stamps form Craftin' Desert Divas. The sentiment is from Be Inspired. You can find the new Shaker dies HERE.  Papers are the Jillibean Kraft In Color and sprinkles are the Birthday Girl pack. 

 

 

Totes Awesome |Craftin Desert Divas Shaker Card

Hey guys!!  I have a really fun card to share today, that used the new Shaker dies from Craftin Desert Divas!    I have a huge stash of sequins waiting to be used up and these dies are going to make that happen!

I used the Fancy Frame dies to cut the charcoal and pink papers.  Then I used the new Shaker Clip Dies to cut the circles.  I used frosted sheets of acetate to hold the sequins in.  I also used the Greeting Word Dies and Tiny Sentiments to create the sentiment on the front.   

I finished with some white sprinkle dots.  This card had  a lot of steps, and lots of cutting, but was very easy to create. 

 

I am using the circles to play along with the challenge at the Paper Players this week.

On the Farm | New CDD Social Media Challenge | Video

 

Hi crafty friends!!  I hope you had a great long weekend.  We kicked off our weekend with HS football at home, however we do not have a HS player this year.  It was still just as fun to watch.  Then Saturday, we started off the Middle School season with a Jamboree in Glasgow.  I'm super excited for football season to start.
Then we met up with some friends and camped out in between Glasgow and here.  It was perfect.  We got to really break in the new RV and made some great memories with the kids.  This long weekend is always a great break after starting school.  But the rain is making me think fall. 

So, now it's back to work and back to some regular posting here on the blog and on YouTube.

 

 

 

We are changing our challenges at the Craftin Desert Divas.

 What we have coming new is a monthly mood board social media challenge. There is a folder under the file section to explain it. Basically you will use some type of CDD product on your entry, get inspiration for the mood board we will provide, there will be a hashtag to tag us with when you share your entry on social media, there will also be a folder here in the gallery to place your entries. There will be 3 monthly winners. I hope everyone will join us starting Sept 5!!!

Here is my project for today! 

I wanted to use this Giraffe on the Tractor because it was so stinking cute!  Using some inks and sponging, I created the background and made the card VERY simple. 

My sentiment was an after thought, so it went inside.  But this is the cutest lil baby card ever!

Back to School Spirit | Can You Case It Challenge

 

Hey there friends!!  I'm back with another just for fun card this week.  Can you believe we are at the end of August!!  AH!  With that, comes all the back to school activities and I thought since we are 2 weeks into school, I should get some things ready for the teachers!!  HA!

When I saw the challenge at the Can You Case it Blog, I knew this would be an easy one to play with.  I recently went through all my scrapbook papers and purged like a mad woman.  But I found some long lost items from a few years back.  Our local Ben Franklin carries papers and embellishments with the logos and names of our area schools.  So I had stocked up on that.  You just never know. 

And today I could use it. 

I ended up only using the one pin, but I added some school colors to it.  The sentiment comes from the  Craftin Desert Divas School Zone set. 

I used the navy blue and found this awesome corrugated papers in grey.  I thought it would give some texture to a really plain card. 

That was super simple, yet fun to have on hand.  I have more of these lil brads so I might make some more cards like this to have in my stash.

Holly Hippo | Action Wobbles + Video

Hello there crafty friends! 

I have a fun lil card to share with you guys today. I was coloring this cute lil Hippo for today’s card, and thought she needed some movement.  I thought I would add the video and show you all how to use the Action Wobbles.  You can find them HERE (with mini ones now too!  Cool!!)  and HERE.

Water Color Challenge | Craftin Desert Divas

Hi everyone!  Happy Friday

So much going on this week, but I wanted to make sure that you all knew there was a new Digi Challenge up in the CDD Facebook Page. 

This month our challenge is watercoloring.  And you may think that would be hard on Digital Stamps, but you can print right on water color paper.   

 

 

I love to watercolor, and I choose to create a fun background for this card.  This took me many, many attempts to get the look I wanted.  I do not know why I struggled so much with this.  Grr. 
After I got the background, I colored the butterfly with my water color pencils and fussy cut it out.  I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed it to make it pop on the water colored background.  I also decided to make it all pop with some polka dot papers in the background. 

Many of my team mates water colored their images, but I wanted to make sure you knew you could just do a background if you were not able to water color your image. 

 

We are headed to the fair today.  I will not have internet this weekend, but I will be checking in again Monday to see how your weekend was!!  Thanks for visiting today!!

Here is what I made for this week's Linky Party!

 

I choose this adorable new image from the Digi Section over at Craftin Desert Divas!

We love Owls in our house, so I thought it was perfect!

 

 

I colored him with Copics and matched him up with the Back to School paper pad from Doodlebug Designs.  It works perfect with this image challenge!

 

I also added some Sprinkle Embellishments to finish it off and add some glitter!

 

The sentiment was added with the set School Zone.  Perfect right!!

 

I hope that you enjoyed this card!  Sadly, we only have 17 days left til school starts here.  I'm not ready.  And I have jammed a summer's worth of activities into these 17 days so here we go August! 

First off, the 1st (Monday) is McKinley's Number 10 birthday!! 

(She has been saying "on my Number 10 Birthday" for so long, it's stuck!!

So now, all my kids are in Double Digits!!

 

 

We are heading out on the 10th to Texas to reunite these two cousins and celebrate the Number 10 birthday!!
