2016 Wrap Up

Hi Crafty friends!!  

I am sharing this video on my YouTube channel today and wanted to share it here as well.  

2016 has been another whirl wind year, and I like to stop and reflect on the year at this time of the season.  We have so much to be thankful for!  

This will be my last post for 2016, as I want to settle in and enjoy the season with my family!!  I will be back to it the first of the year! 

 

 

 

Changes for 2017 -

• I am stepping down from the Design Teams for MHK Designs and Craftin' Desert Divas.  I loved both so much, but I can't continue to keep up with everything I'm doing.  Some of those juggling balls are dropping.  This is such a hard thing to do, as I love being part of the teams, but I just can't fit everything into my daily life!!  
• I will continue on with Riley & Co. and Prickley Pear Stamps and I hope to use my time to make those projects even better!  I'm looking for more quality over the quantity of posts/projects.  
• I will also continue on with Scrapbook Blessings Club and heART of Worship posts.  Each of those is once a month, and again I hope to put more effort into those projects and videos for you.  
• One goal I've set for 2017 is to share more Bible Journaling as well.  This is something I really have fallen in love with, and I hope to make more time in my day for work in my Bible.  I'm excited to share that more as well!  
• After all of that, I hope to share more things that I love on here!  I am excited for a new year!  

 

I appreciate all of you and am thankful for your visits here on my blog!!

Coffee Saturday

Happy Saturday Friends - grab your warm cuppa and enjoy today's post.  We are resting at a balmy 20 BELOW zero F today!!

Thankfully we are staying home!   For a wild twist in our life, we have NO SPORTS going on this weekend. 

RC is done and David has decided not to play basketball.  So as sad as I am about that, I’m beyond happy to stay home!  That being said, we do have McKinley’s dance recital this afternoon. 

But ole man winter is here and it hasn’t been above Zero F all week.  Blah. 

So this lil guy is perfect.  He is the freebie from Craftin’ Desert Divas for the coffee hop.  I printed him with brownish colored ink.  Similar to my No Line Coloring that I showed you not so long ago. 

 

I had fun coloring him and whipping up this cute card. 

 

Sadly, this will be my last post for CDD.   While I was planned to share on the blog this today, plans changed so I am sharing this with you today!   I will be back tomorrow with heART of Worship Sunday!

Hello friends – I’m excited to be sharing today on the Craftin’ Desert Divas Blog.  I am a member of the Digi Design Team, so I get to share some of our super cute Digi Stamps with you today!

This image is called Ginger Cookie and he was super cute to color with my Copics.  I also added some dimension and shading with my white gel pen! 

I used papers from the Here Comes Santa Claus paper pad, which coordinates so well with our Christmas Matte Enamel Embellishments! My cards are not complete without those sprinkles of cuteness!! 

I used the Fancy Frames dies and the Stitched in Circles dies to cut everything out.  And I paired the image with a sentiment from our This & That stamp set.

How cute is this image?  I colored it with some great fallish colors.  And then I added some greys to give it a nice wintery day feel to it.  I added a touch of "snowflakes" with some fairy glitter from the store as well.  My cardstock and patterned paper were cut with the Fanciful Frames dies. 

The sentiment is from the Greetings Word Dies paired with the Tiny Sentiment stamp set.

Craftin Desert Divas | November Mood Board Social Media Challenge

Hi friends!!  I hope you are all well.  Here we are running into November!!  Can you believe it?  I have finally started some Christmas shopping!  YAY!  But there is still a long list, so let's just slow on down ok? 

 

With a new month, comes a new Social Media Challenge for the crew at The Craftin' Desert Divas.  How fun is this inspiration piece?  

 

 

Beautiful browns and raindrops!!  I used our Sprinkles as raindrops on my card.  I also threw on some cork as a more natural look.  

I was drawn to the coffee cup image on the bottom, so I pulled out this cutie, called....  I love to color him, and shared him on Instagram for the 30 Day Coloring challenge going on this month!  

 

I did have to add some Wink of Stella to a few spots to make it shimmer some more!  You can never have enough glitter or shine!!

November 30 Day Coloring Challenge | Craftin’ Desert Diva Images

 

Hi friends!!  Hope that you are all enjoying the beginning of November!!  I had a mini panic attack that I am not ready for these next two months!!  But here they are!  So, let’s jump in! 

One fun thing about it, is Kathy’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  If you have been living under a rock, you can find her HERE on her blog.  But most of the fun happens on Instagram, where you can find the Hashtag #thedailymarker30day 

I shared this last night on Day 1 – and I really hope to share something each day.  I have a pile of images laid out to color on. 

 

So I had planned to use this for the new CDD Social Media Challenge, but I went crazy with the colors instead!!  I’ll share my challenge post on Saturday. 

This image is called Coffee Friends from the Craftin’ Desert Divas Digi Store. 

I had these papers on my desk so that is where the colors came from.  I was especially happy when I saw the lil tea button. It’s perfect!!  I used the Stitched in Circles Dies to cut out the pieces and then just added the fun corrugated cardstock, and the vellum piece came that way as well. 

I played with the sketch from Mojo Monday today.   Love the fun circle elements on the card!!

CDD Halloween Banner

Trick or Treat friends!! I wanted to share this fun lil banner I made for Halloween.  I hung it up at home to photograph, but I actually took it to school to hang on my door to my room. 

I used the Banner Dies from Craftin’ Desert Divas, which includes both sizes of the banners and the star. 

I also used the new Stitches Digital Stamp from CDD and colored him with my Copics.    He is super cute!! 

 

We are all ready for the day.  McKinley is the only one with a part today, but we will stay in town and trick or treat a bit tonight. 

McKinley and I made these juice boxes yesterday for her party.

Craftin Desert Diva’s Release Week + Updates

Hi friends…

Before I get to today's card, I wanted to share a quick update on life.  We've had a wild couple of weeks with just life itself.  We had events last week and were out of town for a couple days.  Thankfully this week looks quieter already.  Last week was dad's first treatments and it was a long week for both him and mom.  He isn't feeling great, but they were home for the weekend.  We got some time with them, and now they are heading back for another week of treatments.  

I haven't gotten a crafty thing done in the last week or this weekend.  I am in a bit of a funk and gave my head a break from it all.  I focused on some things that needed to get done at home.  

So hopefully this week I can get some new things to share with you! 

I will have a new video up Saturday for sure, and I am trying to upload a PURGE video.  It's huge!!  So prepare for that.  Hopefully by the end of the day.

The image is called Raking Fall Fun, and it super cute!!   I also used the dies from Fancy Frames and Stitched in Circles.  The paper is from the Doodlebug line, Gingham, and of course, my favorite item of all – the sprinkles!  A new item in the CDD Store is the Washi Tape, and I used the black and white striped on the middle panel!

Craftin Desert Divas | October Mood Board

 

 

Hi friends!!!  Look at this beautiful mood board for the October Craftin Desert Divas Social Media challenge!  Can we just give it a few more minutes to let me eyes soak in this beauty!!

October is my FAVORITE month of the whole year.  Yes, because it's my birthday.  But also because I love this.  The colors, the crisp air, the settling in for winter. 

Oh yeah, winter...we have that in October in Montana too.  See below! 

But I love this time of year. 

So, it is perfect for this month's mood board!

 

I used a couple images from the new Fall Hall Digital Stamp set.  It's full of great images, and I paired this birdie with the basket.  I have been watching some Copic YouTube videos, so I tried my hand at creating the background to go with it.  I think it really makes the whole card pop. 

I did however, then have a hard time making it into a card!  Nothing looked good enough!  So I kept it very simple and added some fun Doodlebug papers and sprinkles. 

Here is a shot I took before I made this into the card.  I wanted it to really pop with this Fancy Frames die, but it wasn't working out for me.  So I used the die on the black instead!

Celebrate World Cardmaking Day!!!

Friends!!  It’s my favorite holiday of them all!!  World Cardmaking Day!!  I know this day started as a way to get a jump start on our Holiday Cards, but it’s a great day to celebrate this fun craft that we all love!! 

It’s also a great day for sales!!  YAY!!! 

 

I am sharing a quick and fun card from Craftin Desert Divas today!  I finally got to use these new Pumpkin Cute Clips from Doodlebug that are in the CDD Store!  I created a cute lil shaker card using the new Mini Shaker Clip circle die.  I added some of our orange star sequins too to shake it up! 

 

The sentiment is from Ghostly Greetings, and added some more of the matte sprinkles.  And the cute Boos and Brews paper!  So much cuteness going on!!

No fun cardmaking for me.  We are off to Roundup for football, which will be an all day event.  McKinley is off to soccer and David is working, so this will be a first that it is just Greg and I traveling there!
