Hey there everyone!!
I am on my way back to school after a fabulous three day weekend!! More on the weekend later in the post, but I wanted to share a fun card idea and the card I made. Plus, I decided that I needed to video it for you all.
I told you it would be the year of videos.
So, at school, the “book man” comes over couple of months or so and I’ve always got to rush in and see what he ( I think it’s a she really) has. And there are always a box of cards there, but I rarely even look at them. However, this time I did and I was glad.
They had these super cute pop up cards. My friend Jane happened to be there and I said, we could make these. She gave me a look and I said OK, I could make these. She isn’t into more than one fold on a card!! (Stamp Club joke!)
So, I wanted to give it a try!
This is the front of the card, using some fun ledger paper and star dies.
And here is the inside when the card is laying down flat. You can see the “peaks” of the folds and that is where I attached the stars I die cut. So they pop up when you open the card.
Please watch the video and then down below, I’ve got all the scoring and cutting details.
Or you can watch it on YouTube.
Steps:
- Trim 8.5” by 11” cardstock to 5.5” by 11”. Trim off 5/8th” off one of the short sides.
- Using score board, score at 4.25”, 5.25” and 6.25”.
- Flip over and score at 4.75” and 5.75”. Use score tool to fold on score lines making the cardstock fold back and forth.
- Decorate the front of the card as you like.
- Add die cuts, or image to the inside on the front side of the folds.
- Tuck in an envelope and mail off to someone special!!
We got a long weekend because of state basketball tournaments. However, we stayed home and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Thursday, RC wrestled in Chinook and pinned all three kids! So awesome!!
Friday, we putted around the house with the windows open. So nice to have some fresh air in the house.
Saturday we bummed around again and then we went to town for the annual Wagon Train Feed. Or Nut N Gut, due to the menu.
Saturday was also David’s 15th Birthday – and he was the lucky recipient of my fun card!!
Sunday was clean up for the feed and then family time for cake for David’s birthday.
That’s all for now!! Thanks for the visit!! Stop back tomorrow for a new Retro Rubber Challenge!!

Hey woman! This card is so cute!! And I appreciate the shout out. Seriously - more than one fold - this I cannot do. But, I may actually have to give this a try. Or not! I am glad you tried this out!

I am brand new to card making. Do you think this card is too advanced for a beginner? I also don't have a scoring board. Do you recommend that as an item that I need to get started? Thanks for the fantastic video, and for your help.
