I recently looked into Operation Write Home. I had seen this floating around the blog world, but had not looked into it until just recently. Please check out the link, if you are wondering more about it. Overall, OWH sends cards to our troops who can then send them back home to friends and family. I love that idea.
Recently, our local unit deployed to Afghanistan for a year, so I thought it was a perfect time to jump into this.
Thanks to the ladies at Stamp Club, we sent out a box of 54 cards for our first time! I’ve already started a box for next time. I don’t know how often we will send, but maybe everytime the box gets full.
Operation Write Home has a challenge blog, and this was a recent sketch challenge. I sat down created a few cards from this sketch, to add to the box.
These are MME Lost and Found papers and Simple Stories, paired with Paper Smooches sentiment stamp. Then I added some fun polka dot ribbons on the circle. I had kept this super simple and flat, as it’s hard to mail bulky items for the troops.
Thanks for stopping in. Enjoy your weekend!!
I just want to thank you for being a part of Operation Write Home. My son is in Afghanistan right now. It truly is very kind of you !!! Stacy Roberts
