Hey there and welcome back to the week! We had a busy weekend, we had an annual feed and dance Saturday night with prep and clean up on Friday and Sunday. It’s always a long weekend, but one we enjoy and look forward to.
I wanted to play along with some new challenges I’ve picked up this month. Plus, I’ve also picked up some new stamps from different companies this month. Today it’s from Kim Hughes’ Paper Smooches. I love Kim’s illustrations, and especially the fonts/handwriting in the sets! I still have a few of her old CHF sets as well, but this is only my 2nd purchase from her new line.
How stinking cute is this lil teacher!! I could not wait to color him. He is from the set, Smarty Pants.
I drew the colors from the PlayDate Café’s challenge (a new one for me) which I had to play along with. I am not much of a yellow person, but I love it with the greys.
I dug out my new Authenique pad, Blissful which is full of these colors. I used the argyle pattern for the background and for his cute lil tie. I had to paper piece that on there. Had to!! Then I went with the ruler lined paper for the longer elements. This is a very masculine card, with a touch of the school theme in there.
I also found a new sketch challenge to play long with. It’s called Retro Sketches. This was their first challenge.
Here is a bit more of a detailed shot. I have a couple more images that I can’t wait to color on. I’m off to play. Thanks for stopping in today! Enjoy your Monday!!
Welcome to the Play Date Cafe, Katie! I never saw this funny, adorable teacher stamp from PS before. So cute!
Thanks for playing with us at THe Cafe!
