And eat it too!
Of course, I always eat dessert first when given the option. LOL...
Welcome back peeps! Hope you are enjoying the week. Once again, it's already Wednesday. And almost the end of the month. I hate the May creeps up on my and I forget about my poor Dear Hubby's birthday! So, I better get some shopping done.. And a card made!
I did create a birthday card, but for a friend who happens to share the same birthday as Greg. But she lives in Canada, and I always forget to send it early enough to get there... Oh well. It's the though that counts.
I played around yesterday with the sketch provided for the challenge at There She Goes blog. Miss Mercy was the creator of the beautiful sketch, and I have to get to her weekly challenge too. HOWEVER, I bought myself a new label maker, and now I am proud to say my room is nicely labeled. Tee Hee hee...
I wanted it to be bright and cheery for a fun girly birthday. I am sure my friend loves cupcakes, but by looking at her you wouldn't know that. *wink* I, however, have a hard time denying them. I love to paper piece them too. I usually struggle coloring items in a way that isn't what you would naturally seem then as. Like a yellow polka dotted cupcake? Maybe you'd really see that. But it looks cute here.
The cupcake is from the set Make a Wish, and it is PERFECT for birthdays! This sentiment is only one of MANY! I even stamped the cupcake on the envie!
Most of these supplies were in my March Memory Works Kit. If you are interested in the kits, check them out HERE. They are always so fun of fun stuff! A full list of supplies is now at the bottom of each post.
For the inside I kept it pretty simple. I added the polka dot October Afternoon paper and then another layer of the Confetti White cs. Because it was too small, I added the Bo Bunny paper, and I stamped a smaller cupcake for the inside, to match the front. I punched it out with a Martha Stewart punch, that I got this weekend at a garage sale for a buck! SA-weet! I also used a sentiment from PTI, as I wanted something bigger than what came with Make a Wish.
Here's another detail shot. The main panel the image is on, was so big looking so I pierced around it for some definition. Then of course, topped the cupcake with some bling!
Last night was out monthly stamp club meeting. As always, it's never dull. *wink* I'll get a post up showing off the card we made... I love using things in ways they are not intended to be used, but I do not think about it! Sheesh...
Have a super day...enjoy the rest of the week.
