Hello again! It's kind of a gloomy day, so I was crafty.
I still have some un-inked There She Goes stamps, and they threw out another challenge today. The challenge was to add pleating to your card or project. Either with ribbon or paper. There is a tutorial for it HERE on their blog.
I got their newest birthday set, Make a Wish, and there literally is all kinds of elements for birthday cards and invites! And if you have been here awhile you know about my love for cupcakes. I instantly thought about serving this huge cupcake up on a pedestal. I even remembered to add cupcakes on the envelope!
I stamped the pedestal and sentiment on Very Vanilla card stock. Then I stamped the cupcake on the Apricot Appeal cs and again on the Basic Grey dp. I paper pieced the dp onto the card stock, colored in some shading and popped it up on the pedestal. I matted the main image panel on Apricot Appeal and Lovely Lilac cs.
I drew this colors for my card from this awesome paper from Basic Grey Koshi papers, and buttons. The large piece is matted on Mellow Moss card stock.
The base is also Very Vanilla card stock, and I distressed the edges with Antique Lined ink.
The satin ribbon is also from SU, and I pleated it and then sewed it down with my machine. I love this look even better!
To finish it, I added some circles of card stock, and a Basic Grey button and twine. I love the simplicity. And I am hoping to get more Birthday cards done...I always seem to need more than I ever have!
Thanks again for stopping by!
