Hey there! Welcome back to the blog for some eye candy! But beware, this card is bright!! LOL.. I have my shades out too...the sun is OUT!! And I love it. I am bracing myself for a long, wet spring tho. However, for today, I am thankful for the sun and enjoying it!! Greg grilled out dinner and we would've ate outside if the wind wasn't blowing.
I created this card for the challenge on the There She Goes blog. Did you see my blinkie <---- I am going to be in the Mother of all Blog Hops for TSG's as well. However each week I rarely take time to play along with the TSG challenges. More on that *timing* subject in a minute.
The challenge was a list...
- 3 different colors
- 2 different designer papers
- 1 button
- 1 Ribbon
- No other embellishments
Now, I think I know why I didn't do challenges like this...they are challenging!! I first choose the stamp set, which was Craftier Taglines. Then I choose the papers and colors. I went back to my pad of Sweet Pea SU DSP. This is a BIG pad, so I think I've told you before to be prepared to see it often! LOL...
When I picked out the DSP, I drew the colors from there. They are all SU, Pumpkin, Chocolate Chip and Tempting Turquoise. I used two strips of the Sweet Pea papers, and I love these polka dots!!
I also chose the sketch from Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch. I added in the circles behind the button.
Something I can't normally do is color images that aren't real. Like, I do not see a brown sink, or orange glasses, but at the same time, I could only use three colors. I also used white, and I hope that a neutral color was OK. LOL...
I read up on Michelle Wooderson's postabout making a better card, which is why I added the circles behind the button. And then I think the stitching adds some too.
OK, so do you see how bright this card is? The beautiful sun is out!! However, there was a big turkey blocking it when I was trying to take these pictures! The only sun we get, and the hubs tries to bother me!
While I was making this card, I was laughing at Greg that maybe I should leave this out to give him some ideas! Although when I really thought about it, I thought he would just say OK... He doesn't really care about the cleanliness of the house anyway. That is nice. I have watched enough of the tv show HOARDERS to keep up around the house on my own!! YIKES.
I've also had other thoughts and I was thinking about it while typing this. I am thankful that God has made me this creative, and I am most thankful for the way I am able to live right now. I am very fortunate to be able to be able to be here at home, and be a good mom and wife. And I enjoy making this hobby a part of my daily life. So maybe it's not to get out of the cooking and cleaning, but God has made me this creative for a reason, and he's given me this life for a reason. I plan to take advantage of that and enjoy it. Ü
I hope you enjoyed this bright card!
Have a great day!!
That looks GREAT Katie! I'm glad you are seeing your God given talent as part of His plan for you!
