No, this isn't the first time I've scrapped. I am trying something new this year to help me keep my pages up to date. (I'll deal with what I missed later!)
The ever talented Michelle Wooderson, created a lil kit called The 12 Days of Me. You can see her posts about it HERE. I love the concept of taking a full WEEK day and scrapping and keeping caught up. I like that idea of making an appointment in my planner to do this. I didn't completly copy Mish, but I drew off her ideas.
I didn't actually get a full day either, but rather 2 afternoons, and I thought I would share with you what I completed and what I hope to do each month.
First off, I finally had gotten this 12 x 12 frames done and before yesterday they still had 1st day of school layouts! So I started with this...making a layout for each kid from January.
And then they will go into their respective albums. I've finally found a home for them in my dining room hutch, which is perfect as they can be pulled out at the table.
Next I worked on something new. I've seen other projects like this...Project Life by Becky HIggins, Project 365, etc. But since I was a Memory Works demo, I caught wind of Simple Stories by Memory Works and their Life Documented Kit. I don't sell MW to others, but I can link ya up to find out more if you want. Anyway, I choose to purchase their kit to use for 2010.
This post contains all the info about the kit itself. There is matching Prism cs, and all of the paper and journaling and quote cards making it super simple to add pictures. I was a lil miffed that the papers were double sided, HOWEVER you totally see it on the other side and can use it that way! DOH! *slaps head*
So I have put many of my January pictures in the slots, added the cards and viola! It's done. And it looks super cute too.
I do however like to really scrapbook, but I don't have time to do ALL of it. So this kit is very handy in that I can get these pictures, that maybe I only have one of or aren't really layout material, at least preserved and still tell a story and have some creativity too. As you can see I did add some embellishments on some of the cards.
Another one of my goals was to take part in Project 12, and you can find those details HERE. It's a monthly sketch to highlight some of the big things that happened that month. I realize now that months like January are going to be harder to do when we are SUPER boring people. But then other months will be bulging with pictures.
Here is the layout I completed for the sketch.
I am glad that I can add it to my WRMemory Keepers album that I got with my SS kit. And that I can move pages as I need to.
I also wanted to do something Lovey Dovey too, and scrapped these three pictures of Greg and I and added them to the back of the family album.
I am hoping that this helps keep me up to date. I am designating the first Thursday of each month as my scrapbook days. I think knowing this will help me get my photos printed off and all of my supplies ready for that day.
My goal is to get the last 3 years worth of pictures printed and put into albums!! Should be easier than losing weight, LOL
