Hi all. I am back from break and a lil bit refreshed. We have had a great end to the week and weekend. We went downtown to take in some of the street fair happenings yesterday. We stopped in a few stores and the kids got new school shoes while they were on sale. Luckily I've been able to hide them so no one will be asking for them before hand. The boys also tried the giant waterslide and rock wall, and we were home really early. Then the kids and I went to mom and dad's to ride into town on the wagon for the Centennial Parade.
Yeah the kids and I don't look nearly as cool as mom and dad. Oh well, we were there and the kids had a great time. There were tons of people watching us too...wow!
Then we were able to attend a BBQ at Ashley's house before we sent the kids to the movie and we all went downtown. As fun as it was, there were so many people that I didn't know and it was overwhelming. When the show was out, I got the kids, watched the fireworks and we went home. Probably for the best! *wink*
Today we have been busy already with outside work and cleaning out the cars we are getting rid of. So it's late afternoon, Greg and Mc are sleeping, the boys playing with their own friends and I took a coffee break to get crafty!
I had found this new blog, Sweet Sketch Wednesday, and I've wanted to make a card with them for awhile now. I think my life is going to slow down now, so I'll have plenty more time to be crafty. Anyway, this is the card I created. (Also see my background - ain't she cute!!)
The image is from Stamping Bella - and I just noticed the caterpillar this time!! I used some fun DP I got from Deanne from being on the Just My Sketches crew. Went for a vintage, rough look.
For the lil sparkles I added some ZVA crystals to them. I also used my sewing machine to stitch the chocolate CS to the DP, and then finished it off with twine and a button.
I had fun playing with this sketch, and am anxious to try some more. Hope your week goes great!
Katie your card is absolutly adorable. I love the rustic look to the card. The owls are just too cute!! Great job. Thanks for joining us at SSW. Hope to see you next week.

Katie, your card is darling...I love the owls but I mostly love the way you put it all together. I love the distress paper as it makes it look like bark on a tree...hope that makes sense...I love the twine and button, too. Great job. See you next week on SSW. Thanks for playing along.
