Craft Fair Items

Watch Me: Notepad Covers

Hey there Peeps!!  It's Monday.  In October!!  I love October, as it's my birthday month.  I like to celebrate all month ya know!  And I  love that it brings the changes of fall.  I've noticed the leaves are changing and falling.  I do not care for the clean up, but I love the atmosphere nonetheless.

I mentioned I wanted to share more videos with you all and I am starting that today.  This is going to be my Watch Me series, where you will basically do that.  Watch me make something.

I am in craft fair mode and was over the weekend, whipping up come notepads for the upcoming shows.  It's always handy to have one on hand to send as a quick gift or pick me up.  Or maybe in place of a card.

You can watch the video on my YouTube channel HERE.

Here are a couple still shots of the notepads.  I actually am using the sketch Karen posted yesterday for Sweet Sketch Sunday.  I thought it made a perfect notepad shape.

Can't say too much else, because it's all in the video!  Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy your fabulous Monday!!

News Bits

Due to the weather, I decided not to risk going to Glasgow to the Craft Fair.  I am glad we didn't, but sad at the same time to miss the event.  I am going to be selling them locally, as always at the local Coffee Shop and then through December at the Brown Bag Bistro during late night openings.

If you are local, pop over and check it out!  The late night openings will be Monday's from 4 to 7 for me.

As for the blog-o please do not expect daily posts.  :D  Now through the end of the year is crazy busy for everyone, and I will be focusing on family and their events.  I won't be completly gone, but posting will be fewer and farther between.

We are enjoying this snowy day now.  The kids and I have already been out sledding and we've already played a few games of Cadoo.  Now, Montana State is taking on University of Montana...GO GRIZ!  I've set up a table for a puzzle and we will probably have to have something yummy to eat too!  *wink*

Enjoy your Saturday!

Craft Fair items...

Howdy!  I am still alive and kicking!!  I enjoyed a laid back weekend with the kiddos and Greg, not doing much of anything.  Know I am sad that we didn't take care of the yard and leaves. Oops.  Then Monday I filled in at McKinley's school. Yesterday however I was working away on the items for my craft fair.

The day started off nice and clear, but I took these pics to show you how it progressed.

Snow 1I took this one about 11 am.

Snow 1And this one about 4 p.m.  The weather man said 2-3 inches, but we have over 7!!  Yikes!  Anyway, it's a perfect weather for crafting!  (that is RC, not Bigfoot!  lol)

Snow 1

Here is my basket of notebooks.  I love Mish's notebooks, and I so want to be as cute as her's, but these are mine, and I love them anyway!  Ha Ha!!   I hope they go well.

Snow 1
I also picked up some new things from Taylored Expressions, including the small tins for gift cards, and matching set Enjoy to make some cute tins.  These pics aren't pretty, I was snapping as I went.

Here is some of my goods ready to go on Saturday.  I'll share some pics of the tables when I get home from that sale.

I will try to get to a card today...for sure more things for the craft fair.  I have some un-inked stamps calling me!!  Eeep!!  :D

Have a great day, stay warm and safe!

Note Card Set - Craft Fair Best Seller

TGIF!  I hope you are all ready for the weekend.  Greg left today on a road trip to MN to watch a NFL game on Sunday with a bunch of guys.  I am excited for them, but it's going to be quiet around here.  Oh wait, he left me with the kids.  :D  It should be nice weather wise, so we might be able to enjoy some outside time.  I have tricked them into thinking raking leaves is fun, and they can jump in the we might keep the trickery going and get them to rake more!  ;oP

I also hope to work on some projects today while it's just me and lil Miss.  I am getting a good craft fair supply built up.  One of the items that sold really well the last two years was card sets.  I think they go over well, because I package them in THESEclear boxes from PTI, at 5 for $10.  I do not sell these to make a living or anything, I sell them because I enjoy the reaction from people when they get a handmade card.  And besides that store bought cards are freakin' expensive!!  Sheesh.  Anyway, I also enjoy the time spent working on them, so it's just for fun.

Speaking of this - as I was typing I got a call from a gal who shopped at the bigger sale I went to last year.  She was just checking to make sure I'd be there again.  See...that makes me smile!  :D

OK, anyway, here is a set I worked on yesterday.  I got out my sets from PTI, On My Couch, OMC Additions and Chairished.  This image is from the latter of those three.  I stamped the image out on 5 Vintage Cream circles cut with my Nesties.  Then I stamped them again on various cardstocks, and punched out scalloped circles to match.

For the ribbon, I used Vintage Cream grosgrain ribbon from  PTI and colored with my Copics to match the papers.  I had seen Nicole doing this on the PTI blog, and gave it a try.  FYI - I used some Wrights grosgrain ribbon and it bled like crazy.

I made 5 various colors and packaged them up with matching kraft envies.  Ready to go.

Now, I am off to work on more.  Enjoy your Friday.  Tomorrow I am posting my TSG swap cards.

Birthday Calendar

Hello Monday!   First, I want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my DAD!!  Also, Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends and Happy Columbus Day to us in the US.

It is a holiday but the boys are off to school.  (yay)  I have got some damage control on the house from the weekend.  The girls had our fun on our trip out of town to the Expo.  It is always fun to go with my mom and my aunts, but also to see some new things and venture out of town.  Then we enjoyed the beautiful day yesterday.  It is hard to believe it's October, but we took advantage and got our summer things put never know when it will snow, and how long that snow will last!

Then I snuck some time away in the studio to get started on another new project for the Craft Fairs.

As soon as I saw THIS POST over at Papertrey's Blog, I knew I would be purchasing these awesome calendar items.  I have made various perpetual calendars for gifts before, but these are just so awesome!  I love the binder, and the pockets for the cards.  I started to work on my first one yesterday, choosing a blue, white and kraft color scheme.

I got the inspiration from Maile's Calendar binder HERE.  I stamped the flowers from Friendship Jar Fillers with white ink on kraft cardstock.  Then I stamped the Vintage Frames from PTI also in Seaside ink on the kraft and cut out with my matching Nestie.  I stamped the corner images from Calendar Basics in Seaside on the Spring Rain cardstock.  I created a banner effect for the CALENDAR across the top.  I also stamped the Handmade Orginal on there.  Then I added some white grosgrain ribbon.

I created a lil tab for the spine as well.

This is the inside of the Birthday pages, and I've added a matching card inside too.

This is a super simple card.  I used the new Framed set from PTI, and paired it with other sentiments from Calendar Basics.  I also wrapped the ribbon around similar to the binder.

I hope that these are as big of a hit with the craft fair crowd as they are with family.

Thanks for stopping by and as always, comments are appreciated!

Have a great Monday!

TGIF!  I am always ready for a Friday.  Going to the pumpkin patch with my lil pumpkin and her class, then we are joining my mom and my aunt to head to the big city.  There is a What Women Want expo that I've been wanting to go for a few years.  So we finally are.

Anyway, I have been steady in my work.  The first craft fair I'll be doing in November 20th.  Then I might do a few late night openings down town.  But I need to whittle away my sales list.  Today I'm showing you a couple notebooks.

For these three I used papers from PTI It's Official pad.  I also used the Take Note and It's Official stamp sets.  I also added some new Prima flowers and PTI buttons.  Below is the paper flower I tried to make.

I used various scalloped circles and wet them and crinkled them up to make the flower.  I am checking a few more off my list.

OK, I am off to get a Spiced Pumpkin latte to enjoy while we hit the pumpkin patch.  Have a great weekend!!

Let's Go Sledding Now!

Does that make you think of the Beach Boys Let's Go Surfin' Now!   It is not quite sled weather and I am OK with that.  After 3 full months of snow last winter, we can surely hold off.  I am slowing getting into the holiday spirit without snow.

Well, the craft fair is over with.  It was successful, I had a few return customers from last year.  I cleared out most of my cards, and all but 2 of my notebooks.  I forgot to count before hand, then didn't keep that great of track as I sold them.  And I forgot my camera.  But it was a good day, and I'm happy with the results.  Now, I have some none crafty things I need to focus on this week.  I'll be pre-posting my SSW, and my Humble Pie challenge this week, so I won't be sharing anything else this week.

Today I have a Dog Gone Stamps card for you.

This guyis having so much fun on this sled.  It makes me happy to know we will get to do this soon, but no hurry.  I colored him with Copics on Papertrey Ink's white paper.  The DP is from SEI and Heidi Grace Designs.  The buttons are PTI too, and tied with some twine I got at a fabric shop.  The sentiment is CTMH and I borrowed from Ashley so I don't know the name.  Sorry!

My ippity stamps should be here today, so make sure you check out my ippity page to order.  I'll try and post some samples there this week, if I get to it.  (Who am I kidding, I'll have them inked up before Mr. Brown leaves the yard!!)

Have a great day everyone!!  Stay warm, and prepare your bellies for Thursday!

Altered Blocks for Winter

I have to show you something, that is so disgusting.  I hate to even have to show you....

Isn't that just awful?

We went to David's last Flag Football game and the snow flakes were falling when we left.  It didn't take long to look like this, and since it's only 20* F I think it may stay got now.  I was just not ready.

The other night we talked about complaining, and how really we need look for the positive and thank God for the good He is doing.  So, thanks for the moisture!!  We do need that.  Ü  And since I know (or hope) this won't stick around, I'll enjoy the day inside my warm house.

I have been a crafty lil chick the last few days.  Trying to get my Craft Fair items rolling.  I've got a lil box full of ideas so I am trying to get them to pan out.

I purchased the decor blocks from Stampin' Up! and altered them with the Christmas Cocoa DSP. Some of these DP's are flocked and feel so fluffy.  I altered them all with Modge Podge and then applied a coat to the top of them as well, to seal them up.  I left the red and white flocked paper so that you could feel it. (It is the paper you see on the J block, on the top section)

The letters and shapes are a vinyl lettering that can be used on almost any surface.  This is something new SU! had and the first time I tried theirs.  These are the Holiday Mix Chocolate Decor Elements.  You could use them on your walls, although they were perfectly made to fit with these blocks.

I have another set of blocks I can't wait to alter, and maybe order some more!!  These are going to be packaged up for Craft Fairs.  As I produce more items, I'll share them with you.

Now, going to settle in where it's warm for the weekend.  Hope you are all warm as well!!

More Note Pads...

Hello there, and thanks for stopping in!  Hope that you are enjoying the down hill slide to the weekend.  Ahh...tomorrow is Friday!  YAY!!!

Thanks for your comments yesterday on the SSW post.

Today I have some more note pads.  I love these two!!

I made these similar to the ones I posted Tuesday.  The base CS is Chocolate Chip, which is awesome with this October Afternoon paper!!  YUM!!  The other cs is Bazzill Bling and I love the shimmer it adds to them.

I stamped out the word notes with my CTMH Sans Alphabet.  The one of the left also wraps around the front and can be tied shut or slid under the button.  The one of the right only opens on the side, and I added some baubles to the Die Cut tag.  Very simple, but they are so pretty right?  I can't wait to get to making more.

These are the first of the items I've got for my Holiday Craft Fairs.  I am excited to get more projects completed!!

Thanks for stopping in.  Enjoy the rest of the week!
