I don’t like to make resolutions, but I do set goals. I set them often and not just a the New Year. But the New Year does give off some sort of feeling of a clean slate and a fresh start to life. I think it’s because we are so rushed around the holidays that we long to slow down and get back to a normal routine of life.
ON THE BLOG, you probably won’t see a lot of changes right away. These are just some things I want to work towards.
Videos: I want to share more videos with you. Even simple card making videos. But I’m on the hunt for new techniques and ideas to share as well.
Project Life: This is so high on my goal list. To document weekly and SHARE. I am only on week 50 of 2012, but that is so good. I just wished I’d shared it more.
Content: I want my blog posts to be more informative and filling for you. That may mean blogging less often but when I do it will fill you up with ideas!!
Design Team Work: You will be seeing that. Currently, I am part of the MemoryWorks TeamWork and that will supply a lot of blog content. I am still also part of the Drunken Stampers Challenge blog. I love being on teams and I love working with companies/teams that I love and enjoy. I’ve learned a thing or two in the past year or so and that is: design teams are a lot of work. With that being said, I am happy to work for teams that I enjoy. But when they just don’t jive with me, I need to step away. Not that I do not love them, but sometimes you just need to find what fits you and know what doesn’t.
Publications: Here is another aspect that I found to be a lot of work, and I was just asked if I was going to try to get published again. Yes, I always like to try, but I am very sporadic when I do. Ha Ha! And sometimes when I get the criteria for the issue, my brain freezes up on me!! So it’s gotta be enjoyable or I give up.
Cards for Sale: My cards are still for sale locally and I’m open to custom orders anytime. That is something I really enjoy and will keep on doing. However, I just can’t do it all and my etsy shop will probably be severely neglected again.
I will add to this goal list and I may delete from this goal list. But that is where my head is at right now.
On the personal side, I’m continuing goals to be more efficient with my time and money. A couple big things I implemented this fall. I’m working to grow deeper in my faith and focus more on my family. My biggest hurdle being a negative attitude, so I’m hoping to keep moving toward a positive attitude, and it’s been hard as I’ve had to cut things out of my life that truly drug me down and made me focus on the negative. It’s an ever-changing journey.
I’ve never done anything with Ali Edwards Word for the Year – but I think that if I did pick one for 2013, it would be CONTENT.
I’m thankful for all of my blog readers and hope you continue to visit in the New year. Enjoy your celebrations tonight and BE SAFE!!
