Under the Umbrella…

Hello there Peeps!!  Are you ready for Monday?  No one was here, it’s rainy and still dark when the kids had to run to the bus.  I couldn’t blame them for not wanting to get up…and McKinley said she hates it when people wake her up when she’s tired.  ME TOO!!

I got some time in the craft room yesterday and set to work.  It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been able to play with some of my favorite challenges. I’d recently cleaned up a kit that I’ve had for quite awhile, so I used the scraps that were left to make today’s cards.  (yes, more than one!!)  The papers are older MME Miss Caroline papers.

I used MFT’s Umbrella Stamp and Die set, die cutting the smaller pieces.  It worked out to make three umbrellas from that.  So I made 3 cards.

CASE Study, MFT, Umbrella Stamp Set

I made this card for the CASE Study challenge.  (Follow the link to check out the challenges!!)  It was the reason I pulled out the Umbrella set.  I went with the pink background, running it through the Big Shot with the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  It looked a lil naked so I added the floral paper along the bottom.

CASual Friday, CASE this Sketch, Umbrella stamp set

I used two challenges on this card.  The first one was from CASual Friday – which called to have something go off the edge of your card front.  I made the card smaller for that reason – so it will fit in a regular envelope.

The second challenge is a new one I’ve found called CASE this sketch.  It’s also Clean and Simple. The sketch looked like the perfect place for something to go off the edge.   I wanted a sentiment too, so I added the small flag.

Deconstructed Sketch, Umbrella Stamp Set

And for my final card, I used up the rest of the pieces for the umbrella and created a card for this week’s Deconstructed Sketch.  I choose to work with a large 5.25 x 5.25” card.  This photo makes the dark grey cardstock look black but it’s really more of a grey tone IRL.

Normally, I like to give each card it’s own post, but I thought they flowed well today.  I hope you enjoyed the ideas.  I enjoyed cleaning up some paper scraps and getting a few more cards done for my stash!!

Enjoy your Monday!!
