TGIF!! and a long weekend to boot!! Whatcha doing? We are headed off our first Middle School football game, and then racing and camping. Bring on the last weekend of summer!!
I mentioned that I had cheated and not used dies on my last Verve cards (for the contest), so I wanted share what I mean by that.
There are many ways to make the flags you see on my cards. And they are popular all over the blogosphere. These are my go-to ways.
When I’m feeling lazy, I use this punch from Stampin’ Up! – it’s a retired Corner tab punch. You can do the same thing with a square punch as well.
You see here how it looks after a punch.
I also use the actual flag banner dies. I have the Papertrey Double Ended Banners Die (see in top photo), and I used the dies from MFT’s First Place Award Ribbon Die & Stamp Set, as seen in this photo. I’ll list a few more ideas below.
I used all three of the above ways to create the flags for this card.
This is for the Mojo Monday Sketch this week, which I thought was a perfect way to share these ideas with you. I used some scraps of paper of my desk, mostly from MME Lost and Found and Indie Chic pads. I stamped this sentiment from PTI’s Glory Be stamp set.
One thing I love to do, once I the flags is to curl them up. I usually use a small dowel or pencil to do that with. I also inked up the edges on this card, and finished it off with a Pirma flower, vintage button and twine. and I thought it needed a teeny bit of bling!
Other dies that will create the flag ends - Die-namics Fishtail Banner, Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX, and Die-namics Mix & Match Banners. These are just some of my faves from MFT, but I know there are plenty more out there.
Enjoy your Friday – and be safe this long weekend!!
