On the hop, I am getting to share with you Blossom by Blossom. What a fun girly set, perfect for a Mother’s Day card this weekend.
I decided to channel my inner Jessica and did some fun layering on this image. The image itself is colored with Copics and the dress, hat and boots are paper pieced on.
I got my colors from this inspiration piece that is this week’s challenge over at the TSG blog. I loved the chevron pattern in the chair and was happy to find that paper in the new Echo Park Hello Summer pack. The rest of the pack is full of beautiful papers perfect for this challenge.
Here you can see my many layers of the main image. I stamped the whole image once on the white cardstock panel, and gave it a light coloring. Then I stamp the image twice more. The second time, only coloring the bench and small birds and popping that layer up. The third time, I just used the girl and her small bird, coloring and paper piecing her before I popped her up on another layer.
I used the sketch from Jen’s Sketch For You To Try this month. I added some fun colored twine from The Ribbon Carousel as the strips along the side, and created a banner for the sentiment.
